Some general questions......

Postby Allan Heron » Thu Apr 23, 2009 3:08 pm

Not strictly questions about Esoteric releases but as it involves work Mark has been involved in, there is a clear connection -

Are the other Camel albums on Deram being remastered? If so, is there any likely timeline for them?

Are you aware of the critical comments about the Man set on the Greasy Truckers album? Specifically that Micky Jones guitar is now much lower down in the mix than was the case on the original release. Were there any factors involved that made this necessary/unavoidable?

Some suggestions for Esoteric (all of a Man-related slant) - the two Eyes Of Blue albums (originally on Mercury), Alkatraz' Doing A Moonlight. Also, I think you are looking to license the EMI albums (The Welsh Connection, All's Well That End's Well) - any success so far and any sense if there's more live material to supplement these?

Apologies - lots of questions at one time!

Hi Allan

yes the Camel titles will be early Autumn.

With regards to Greasy Truckers, it was mastered by Pete Mew at Abbey Road as it was an EMI project and not an Esoteric project. Mark is aware of the comments, some liked it, some didnt but you cant always please everyone and can only work with what there is to work with and what EMI are happy with.

The Alkatraz titles etc are all in for clearance and have been quite a while, but not cleared yet. EMI can take quite a while.

Hi, are there any further informations about the ALKATRAZ Album for a re-release on CD ? As I heard that the band was going to record a second album in 1977, which has never been released then, it might be a great surprise to hear these fabulous tracks after all these years for the first time....
